Not everything I’ve learned in life has come from textbooks. Just like you, I’ve learned some of my best lessons through experience. Some of the most significant Life Lessons I’ve learned are:
1. I’ve learned that salamanders don’t eat as often as I do. What looks like a good idea at first may not be so good if it doesn’t benefit all parties involved.
One of the best things that happened to me last year was discovering Michael Hyatt’s blog.
As a result of reading it frequently I have gained valuable insights and learned some priceless stuff. His main focus is on leadership, productivity, and social media. Being the CEO of the largest Christian book publisher in the world he shares his thoughts freely and I’m truly blessed by his writing. It’s like having my own personal leadership coach. In one of his last posts of last year he challenged his readers to ask seven questions about 2009 for personal reflection and closure. I did the exercise and it was highly beneficial to me as I answered the questions and reflected on the year as a whole. I will answer these questions and challenge you to engage in the same exercise.
This morning during my devotion, I was meditating on the following Biblical text:
Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you. (1 Timothy 4:14 NIV).
